Melanie Ballesteros has participated in WriteGirl, a creative writing and mentoring program in Los Angeles. When she was seventeen years old, her work appeared in the WriteGirl anthology, You Are Here.

Sabrina de Brito loves journalism and creative writing, especially short stories and plays. Writing keeps her sane, happy, and her best self. She is grateful for all that WriteGirl does to help others get into writing. When she was fifteen years old, her work appeared in the WriteGirl anthology, Emotional Map of Los Angeles.

Zzzhakia Burnley has participated in WriteGirl, a creative writing and mentoring program in Los Angeles. When she was fourteen years old, her work appeared in the WriteGirl anthology, You Are Here.

Erica Logan is from Long Beach, CA. She started in writing in 7th grade, joined WriteGirl in 8th, and has been writing ever since. She is now a senior in high school and plans to attend Humboldt State University in the fall. She hopes to get her master’s degree in social work. She also plans to continue with her writing throughout college, hopefully obtaining a degree of some sort in creative writing. When she was thirteen years old, Erica’s work appeared in the WriteGirl anthology, Emotional Map of Los Angeles.

Valeria Olmedo has participated in WriteGirl, a creative writing and mentoring program in Los Angeles. When she was sixteen years old, her work appeared in the WriteGirl anthology, Emotional Map of Los Angeles.

Janel Pineda is a Latina poet and writer born to Salvadoran immigrants in Los Angeles, CA. She first developed her love of stories listening to her grandmother’s cuentos, and eventually began writing stories and poems of her own. Janel is currently an English major and creative writing minor at Dickinson College, with plans to study abroad her junior year at Oxford University on the Mansfield College Visiting Student Programme. When she was sixteen years old, her work appeared in the WriteGirl anthology, You Are Here.

Jessica Romoff has participated in WriteGirl, a creative writing and mentoring program in Los Angeles. When she was fifteen years old, her work appeared in the WriteGirl anthology, Emotional Map of Los Angeles.

Gerhard Po’omahealani Ka’aihue

Gerhard Po’omahealani Ka’aihue or “G” was born and raised on the island of Maui and drew superheroes he created with his friends. In his teens he travelled to Korea and Japan and studied traditional Ukiyo-e printing and anime. He is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in Graphic Design. Outside of the corporate design world, G freelances as an illustrator and comic artist. He has exhibited his works in galleries and has worked on titles such as Show Devils, Stella Noir, Spanners Dissent and Mongrel.
