John C. Richards' short story, Heart Too Big, was included in "Stubborn Light," an anthology of the best published work of The Sun. Another was the genesis of his screenplay for Nurse Betty, which captured the Prix du Scenario at the Cannes Film Festival. He wrote the voiceover narration for American History ‘X,’ and screenplays for Sahara and Paterno, for which he received a WGA Award Nomination. Richards wrote and directed The Picnic Basket, a short film based on his stage play which won Best Dramatic awards at the 2023 Oregon Short Film Festival and the Worldfest Houston Int’l FF.
