
JP Legarte
JP Legarte (he/she/they) is a genderfluid Filipinx American graduate student at Emerson College in Boston pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing (Poetry). He also serves as the Managing Editor, the Digital Director, and a senior poetry reader for Redivider and as the Director of Creative Operations and Secretary for Collections of Transience. At Brink and F(r)iction, he researches and supports grant opportunities, reports, and applications and collaborates with authors to help bring their pieces toward publication.
Her poem “To the Person Sitting in Darkness” was chosen for the 2025 Mayor’s Poetry Program in Boston, and another poem of hers titled “Sound Bites from the Language of Silence” was chosen as a finalist for the 2025 Peseroff Poetry Prize with Breakwater Review.
